“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.â€

Visit a nursing home. Spend time visiting with someone who doesn’t get visitors.
Here is an update on Marie, a March 2003 Feature:
I wanted to give you an update on my MIL and former SAC feature, Marie C. About a month ago it was confirmed that her breast cancer has returned and matastasized. She is undergoing chemo, radiation and a clinical trial of a new drug as well. She was just discharged from her second hospitalization a couple of days ago due to needing blood transfusion. She is totally homebound now and practically immobile.
Marie is back on ACTIVE status and could use our cards during treatment!

From time to time, we all could use a little card making “Inspiration”
Here’s a verse to use in your cards:
Comfort can be found in the simplest of things—a cool, gentle
breeze on a hot summer’s day, the fragrance of fresh-cut flowers, a
faded photograph that holds the smile of a friend…
Or a reminder that someone who cares is thinking about you today.

Wishing you a day as bright and wonderful as you are!
Hugs,
Kath, Cindy, Gigi, Connie, Jean, Tricia and Lori
I’d like to share a little story with you. One night last week at 12:30 am, my phone rang. I groggily answered and it was a young man asking me what my hours were. For those of you who don’t know, one of my jobs involves working out of my home office as a notary public. This young man went on to explain that he was staying at a nearby hotel and was filling out his application at the last minute to apply for the state police acadamy at 7:00am. Once finished, he realized that the application needed notarized. This young man was desperate to have this application stamped, he offered to make it worth my while if he could come within the half hour to have it stamped. He and another young fella showed up at 1:00 am and I stamped the application and charged him my normal $5 fee. He handed me a roll of $$. As I unpeeled the $5 on the top, there was one $20 and then another $20 and then more $$. I stopped weeding thru the roll at that point. I handed him back the roll and I told him I only wanted my $5 fee. He graciously said I “saved his hide!”. I told him to keep the money, that perhaps someday someone would be kind enough to save my hide!
I’m a true believer that what goes around, comes around!
Each week, we’ll be posting a Pay It Forward here….just a little reminder of things we can all do to make the world a kinder place ![]()
