Going Back to Yahoo Groups

Monday, August 27th, 2007

After a few years on the blog, it has been decided to go back to a more personal means of communication using the Yahoo Groups. We never deleted our Yahoo Group, always keeping it as a standby. We have discussed this matter and feel that we might be losing a personal connection with our members. You could easily click on the reply message to comment on a posting I had made. I felt that kept me in touch a little more with our dedicated members.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with our Yahoo Group, it was a MODERATOR POSTING only list, keeping the mail volume in your email accounts to a minimum. It also allowed us to be able to make immediate postings of importance. On the blog, we need to submit our posting one day prior to it’s arrival to you :(

We’d like to ask all of you who aren’t currently a member of our Yahoo Group to please subscribe We will be posting our Feature Updates on that list effective Spetember 1, 2007

As an added incentive to transfer your membership, The Wishblading Well has graciously offered several of their files (Buckets of Sentiments & The Lil’ Bucket of Scrapbooking) to our Members!! Thank you Kelly and Tiffani!! Read More HERE
Please DO NOT contact the Wishblading Well. The files will be distributed to our ACTIVE members who belong to our Yahoo Group. Please contact me @ webmaster@shareacard.org for more information. ** Note you need to have one of the cutting systems (Wishblade/CraftRobo/Klic-n-Kut or Silhouette) for the files to work.

See you on Yahoo!
Hugs,
Kath

Exciting News for ShareaCard

Friday, August 24th, 2007

It is with MUCH excitement and long awaited patience (ok, maybe NOT the latter) that I announce that ShareaCard has become it’s own entity and non-profit! Wahhhhhhoooooooooo!
For some time now there have been talks about ways we could make ShareaCard grow and flourish. In April, Cindy, Gigi and I made the decision to take ShareaCard to a new level, to make ShareaCard it’s own non-profit organization! I approached Andy with our desires and they offered their best wishes and support. He said that he knew we were doing what we thought best in order to keep ShareaCard thriving. Today, almost 5 months later, the IRS confirmed that we were accepted! What does all this mean?
Donations would come thru the Andrew C. Virostek Foundation, often making people leery and wondering who/what this Foundation was. At times, donations were non-existant :( I would have to ask the Foundation for money to do things for our Features. Although, Andy was always good about honoring my requests, it left me feeling uncomfortable and always unsure how much we had available in our budget. As you “ole timers” might remember, Suzanne did some TERRIFIC things for our Features and I want the ability to know what’s available and do those same things! She had meals catered for shut-ins in their homes, hired people to help them decorate for the holidays, arranged meetings with Pro-wrestlers, bought tickets to big events…..we all remember some of the amazing things she pulled off! I’m hoping that someday, we can do “bigger and better” things for our Features!!!
What’s changed? All the pages! lol. Although I liked the layout of the website, I thought softer colors were in order. When we started this approval process, I started revamping the pages of ShareaCard as well. Suzanne always had ShareaCard “stacked” on the cacfriends site so this was the perfect time to move ShareaCard to it’s own server. Unfortunately, that means that all the pages and your bookmarks have changed…ALL of them! The homepage to now view the Features is www.shareacard.org Our current feature(s) is still located on the right hand sidebar. You’ll also see some little animations that display our Features.
That’s it in a nutshell! Stop over and take a peek. I welcome your comments and suggestions either in our Guestbook or in email.
Hugs,
Kath webmaster@shareacard.org

Update on Charles

Monday, August 13th, 2007

Charles (Poochie) has been in the hospital a week with pneumonia, we are home, but he still has the pneumonia in one lung and also has a blood clot in his jugular at his Medi-port tube location.

The Chemo treatment have been halted for now, he is not recovering well enough between injections.

It is very easy to get discouraged when you are so sick, please pray for his spirit and for mine. We are very blessed with a loving family and friends, we know that God will supply all our needs.

We are new to Shareacard and we would like to thank you for the encouragement you have given to us already.

Love in Christ
Sue

New Pictures Added to the Gallery

Wednesday, August 8th, 2007

For those of you who would like to see some pictures of Suzanne’s family, I have uploaded some newer ones to our photo gallery. They are located under Virostek Family 2007.
You won’t believe how the kids have grown!
I don’t have a new one of Andrew but I’ve requested one so I hope to have one of him soon. Jacob is the newest little guy. He was born back in April :)

Kath

Update on Cindy

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

An Update received from Cindy’s husband, Richard

Cindy is currently getting better with the ability to eat without IV’s. She did have another major surgery in January-the middle of February. Then readmitted in March for dehydration and anemia. Placed on a pain pump using a Medport (chest IV)through home health care. Unable to leave the house and not having difficulty with coming off the medication. Please pray for this is heart wrenching to watch her suffer. God has blessed us in so many ways-may He continue to be the ultimate “physican”. He made her body and He knows how to fix it. Thank you again for the out pour of cards received it really gave her hope that she so desperately needs. Thank you.
